O2 Mobile Broadband Consumer Tariff Terms

General

  1. O2 Mobile Broadband allowance includes (unless expressly stated otherwise):
    1. A specified amount of data via use of O2’s Edge/GPRS/3G/HSPA networks (and also including O2’s 4G network on selected packages when specified);
    2. data usage for personal internet use via your modem or data card or the device for which your sim card has been provided to you and is intended to be used in; and
    3. for use in the UK only.
  2. All data usage must be for your private, personal and non-commercial purposes. Regardless of the amount of data you use, you must not use your sim:
    1. in, or connected to, any device other than the one which it was supplied with or intended by us for use with; or
    2. in such a way that we reasonably believe adversely impacts the service to other O2 customers. We reserve the right to use appropriate traffic shaping or throttling measures to protect our network from types of data usage which we think might impact on levels of service for customers at specific times of day and/or in specific locations.
  3. A compatible device and compatible software will be required to access O2 Mobile Broadband.
  4. Access to O2 Mobile Broadband is subject to network coverage.
  5. Connection speeds are subject to various factors including network coverage and signal strength and therefore we cannot guarantee that your connection will reach any specific speeds. To check your coverage, visit www.o2.co.uk/coveragechecker
  6. Unless otherwise stated, all prices shown include VAT. Prices are correct at time of publication but are subject to change. Please check the website for details.
  7. O2 reserves the right to change or vary the O2 Mobile Broadband service from time to time.
  8. O2 Mobile Broadband access may be excluded from loyalty and reward programmes including but not limited to O2 Rewards.
  9. Your information will be treated in accordance with O2’s Privacy Policy, which can be found here: www.o2.co.uk/termsandconditions/privacy-policy.
  10. If you switch between 3G and 4G tariffs and you do not have a 4G-ready sim already then you will not be able to move any unexpired data across to your new 4G package. We recommend you use up any unused data allowance before you move across.
  11. You cannot switch between 3G and 4G tariffs more than once in any calendar month.
  12. For use of any 4G services, the following 4G terms and conditions shall apply:
    1. We reserve the right to implement 4G speed caps in future. Any details will be listed on our website.
    2. Our 4G services may be affected by the number of people using the 4G service, maintenance and upgrades, faults from other networks, the weather, other environmental factors or degradation.
    3. You should check our coverage checker at www.o2.co.uk/coveragechecker before signing up to our 4G services. This is an indication and prediction of outdoor coverage, but coverage may vary depending on time and location. Data reception and speeds may not be as good indoors or in a car. Radio-based mobile technologies can also be affected by local factors including buildings, trees and even weather conditions. The coverage checker is a guide and does not guarantee signal coverage. Check for live network updates in affected areas at status.o2.co.uk.
    4. In order to access 4G services you will need a 4G ready device, 4G services package, 4G sim card and you may need to do a software update on your device if it does not have the software required to access 4G services. You’re responsible for ensuring you have inserted your 4G sim and installing a 4G software update on your device (if required). You must follow any instructions we send you about accessing our 4G network. Visit o2.co.uk/4g/setup for more details.
    5. Once you have access to our 4G services, you will be able to access mobile internet data over our 4G network whenever you are in a 4G coverage area. When in our other mobile data network areas (for example Edge/GPRS/3G/HSPA areas) you will still be able to access non-4G data over these networks as usual.
    6. Your data allowance (where applicable) will be used for all our different types of mobile data (for example Edge/GPRS/3G/HSPA areas) and will not differentiate between the types of mobile data you are using.
  13. Your Pay Monthly or Pay & Go airtime terms and conditions shall continue to apply. Please see www.o2.co.uk/terms for details.
  14. General O2 Mobile Broadband terms apply to all O2 Mobile Broadband Pay & Go – recurring and non-recurring customers and O2 Mobile Broadband Pay Monthly customers. You may cancel your recurring payment at any point up to midday on the day before your next monthly payment date. If you cancel your recurring payment during a monthly cycle or after midday on the day before your next recurring payment is due then you will be able to continue using the service until your data expires, but we will not refund any payment that you have made.
  3. It is possible to purchase additional specific amounts of access on top of your monthly recurring allowance, although you are not able to have more than 12GB of access available on your sim card at any time.
  4. Whenever you buy additional monthly access or choose to make a new recurring payment date, the expiry date of any data on your sim card will be extended until the expiry date of the data you have just bought or your next recurring payment date.
  5. If your next recurring payment would take your data allowance over the 12GB limit then the recurring payment will take your data allowance up to the maximum of 12GB. For the avoidance of doubt the maximum data allowance you can have is 12GB irrespective of your recurring payment.
  6. Data will only rollover (up to a max of 12GB) if another monthly top-up is purchased before the data expiry date. Data will only continue to rollover if the account is topped up every month.
